Total holdings of the Heidelberg collection of papyri: Greek papyri (around 5,000 items), Arabic (approx. 3,200 items), coptic (1,370 items) and 815 demotic papyri, as well as some smaller collections of hieratic, Middle Persian, Hebrew, Latin, Aramaic and Syrian papyri and 760 Greek ostraka. Of course the framework data are much more detailed in the case of items that have already been edited.
Access is provided to the extensive holdings of the "Oxyrhynchus Papyri" in Oxford. The collection encompasses primarily Greek texts (classic and early Christian authors and deeds) from the Hellenistic and Roman times. Photographs at different resolutions are offered with every papyrus, a transcription of the text and partly also a brief scholarly bibliography. For further information please click the menu items "search", "authors", "titles", "genres", "dates" or "papyrus nos.". The information output for each papyrus will list "publication date", "author", "date", "provenance", "location", "genre", "format" or "material".
Among other subject areas, the French national library is digitising literature on Ancient History. The digitised holdings currently amount to around 150 titles, which can also be printed out upon request. The individual titles can be searched for "mots du titre", "auteur" or "sujet", but it is also possible to do a "recherche libre".
Further full-text collections from the field of Ancient History can be retrieved from the internet resource database KIRKE.
