Die SFDAS (die französische Sektion der Direction des Antiquités du Soudan) ist eines von 27 französischen Forschungs-Instituten im Ausland und dient der wissenschaftlichen Kooperation mit den jeweiligen Ländern. Das Forschungsfeld der SFDAS ist die Archäologie des mittleren Niltals (250.000 v. Chr. - 400 n. Chr.). Die disziplinären Forschungsfelder sind die Vorgeschichte, die Zivilisationen der Kerma, der Ägypter, der Napata, der Meroe und Post-Mero. Auf der Seite findet man vielfältige Informationen zu Grabungen und sonstigen Projekten, sowie einige Online-Publikationen und den Katalog der Bibliothek als pdf-Liste. The research area of the SFDAS is the middle valley of the Nile (250.000 B.C. - 400 A.D.). The different topics are pre-history and the civilisations of Kerma, Egyptian, Napata, Meroë and Post-Meroë.
