Among other subject areas, the French national library is digitising literature on Pre-History and Early History. The digitised holdings currently amount to around 50 titles which can also be printed out upon request. The individual titles can be searched for "mots du titre", "auteur" or "sujet", but it is also possible to do a "recherche libre".
Within the framework of the project "Archäologische Funde in der Frühen Neuzeit" (Archaeological finds in Early Modern Times) of HAB a bibliographic database of literature published independently and dependently between 1500 and 1806 is set up, to provide research with further access options to this topic. Apart from this, the accessibility of the sources for the scientific history of archaeology is improved by digitising central works from the holdings of the HAB, indexing them by means of a thesaurus and making them available on the world-wide web.
