BASE - Open access academic resources

BASE (Bielefeld Academic Search Engine), operated by the Bielefeld University Library, is one of the largest search engines dedicated to academic (open access) resources worldwide. Metadata from freely accessible repositories is regularly indexed.
The portal PropylaeumSEARCH includes a relevant selection of resources related to Ancient Studies. This selection is based on content carrying Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC; about 13% in total). Since DDC classification in BASE is partly an automatic process, errors may occur from time to time and search results from other subject areas may wrongly appear in the selection. Not all publications included in BASE are freely accessible (open access), but direct access is frequently possible through license agreements (usually on the basis of your IP).
Stock: ca. 152.000 records (March 2023)
