What is the 2nd Conference of the jDOG?
The jDOG was established last year as a community of students in the fields of Ancient Near Eastern Studies (Assyriology), Near Eastern Archaeology, and related disciplines under the umbrella of the Deutsche Orient-Gesellschaft e.V. (DOG). It is dedicated to fostering exchange, collaboration, and networking at an early stage of academic training. Following the great response to the first conference in Marburg (Lahn), the successful format will continue with the second jDOG conference in Munich. It offers a safe and supportive environment for students to present their work, share ideas, and lead practical workshops. Joint activities will complement the program and encourage open dialogue.

How do I apply?
If you would like to submit a proposal for a contribution, please send an email to jdog.konferenz@orient-gesellschaft.de. Your message should include your name, university affiliation, current academic level (Bachelor, Master, or PhD), the type of contribution (presentation / poster / workshop), and an abstract of no more than 300 words outlining the topic, research question, and objective of your submission. If you have any questions, suggestions, or uncertainties about whether your idea is suitable, the organizing team will be happy to assist. The deadline for submissions is 31 July 2025.
