Study course on Architectural Drawings of the 15th and 16th Centuries
Rome, 19–20 November 2026

The course lasts two days. On the first day, at the DAI Rome premises, the specific aspects of early modern architectural drawings and their cultural-historical context will be discussed in detail and explored further through short presentations. On the second day, participants will view and analyze original drawings together at the Istituto Centrale per la Grafica, one of Rome’s outstanding collections.

The course is primarily aimed at early-career researchers at PhD or postdoctoral level, as well as those in advanced Master’s programmes in archaeology, art history, architectural research and history. Participants are expected to be willing to give a short presentation, preferably based on their own research on the topic.

Your application should include a CV (two pages) and a letter of motivation (one page) that clearly explains your connection to the course topic. Please send your documents as a single PDF file.
The languages of the course are German, English and Italian.
The organizing institutions will cover travel and accommodation expenses.
