AI and Humanities: Methods and Tools
Workshop
Freiburg/hybrid, 27 March 2026
The workshop will take place on 27 March 2026 at the University of Freiburg Digital Lab and online from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm. The workshop is dedicated to exploring the use of artificial intelligence in the humanities and is divided into two complementary parts.
In the morning (9.30 am–12.30 pm), a panel discussion will take place in a blended format with international scholars who will address theoretical perspectives, methodological frameworks and current debates on AI in the humanities.
The afternoon session (2.00 pm–5.00 pm) will be devoted to a practical workshop with a London-based IT expert, Max Last. This session is designed as a collaborative and participatory experience, focused on discussing concrete technical challenges and practical questions related to the use of AI in research.
