Tools & Weapons Working Group (AG Werkzeuge & Waffen) at the Joint Annual Conference of WSVA & MOVA
Cutting and Thrusting Weapons/ Close-combat Weapons

The Tools & Weapons Working Group will hold a thematic session as part of the joint annual meeting of WSVA and MOVA, taking place 21–25 September 2026 in Bonn (https://wsva.net/tagungen/).
The working group session is scheduled for 22 September 2026 and will focus on the topic: Cutting and Thrusting Weapons/ Close-combat Weapons
Contributions may address any chronological period or geographical region. By deliberately keeping the scope open, we aim to assemble a diverse and engaging programme that reflects the wide range of current research perspectives on the topic. We warmly welcome proposals for papers and posters. Presentations based on BA, MA, or PhD theses are explicitly encouraged. Please submit your proposal by 15 May 2026 in the form of a half-page abstract, including the author’s contact details (postal address and email address), to the speakers/coordinators of the Tools & Weapons Working Group:

Presentations should be prepared as PowerPoint presentations and will normally be 20 minutes in length (or 30 minutes upon request). Conference languages: German and English.
