Avatar of Ansgar Teichgräber Ansgar Teichgräber - 09. September 2026 - Call for papers

XVII International Numismatic Congress 2027
Transformations and Transitions
Frankfurt am Main, 12-17 September 2027

Submission Deadline: 4 December 2026

Papers
We invite proposals for papers in both accepted sessions and general sessions. Accepted sessions (titles and descriptions can be found here) cover a wide range of exciting topics. Please first consider whether you could contribute to one of these sessions. In the online submission system, you can select for which session you would like your paper to be considered. Otherwise, you are welcome to propose a paper for the general sessions.

Papers are 30 minutes each (25 minutes presentation, 5 minutes discussion) and can be held in one of the official congress languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish). Abstract (max. 300 words) and title should be in English.

Posters
We invite proposals for posters. Posters are DIN A-0 size and should be printed and brought to the congress by you. Posters can be in one of the official congress languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish). Abstract and title should be in English. There will be a dedicated poster session during the congress, during which delegates can view the posters and speak with the presenters. A jury will select the best poster, for which a small prize will be available.

Numi-Slam
For the first time, the International Numismatic Congress will organise a Science-Slam on numismatics (hence Numi-Slam). At a Science-Slam, science meets entertainment. You present your numismatic research with wit and charm. The focus is on scientific curiosity and the ability to inspire. Within 5 (five!) minutes, the slammer must convince the audience. Therefore, the presentation should be as entertaining and original as possible, without losing the academic focus of the research. The most convincing slammer, decided by the audience, receives a small prize (and everlasting fame). To apply for participating in the Numi-Slam, submit a title and max. 100 word abstract of your slam. The Numi-Slam will be in English.

The Call for Papers, Posters and Numi-Slam will end on 4 December 2026. All proposals will be reviewed. Criteria are: academic standard, the relevance of the topic to the congress and - where appropriate - a good fit within the accepted session.
